Class Summary: (All Acting Levels Welcome - Ages 14+)
The Film Acting Scene Study series in Portland, OR provides immersive and comprehensive education in on-camera film acting for beginner to advanced levels. This four-week intensive is designed to help the actor address, de-mystify and master the challenges they face.
Students will be assigned two scenes from two feature films currently in pre-production. The first screenplay is written by Marc Steele (Working Title: Golden Child) and the second screenplay is written by Tristan David Luciotti (The Subtle Art of Being Human). Students will have a different scene partner for each scene. Scene #1 will be filmed weeks 1 and 2 and scene #2 will be filmed weeks 3 and 4.
We will transform the studio into a working set with props and required furniture to replicate the feeling of a feature film set for students. Marc will direct the scenes the same as he does on set. Students will receive their filmed scenes after each class for their review and keepsake.
The goal is to get every actor in this series to achieve believable and honest emotions when relating to one another and to their circumstances, which is the key to a successful performance. This class series demands full participation from every student into further developing their craft of acting. No significant prior experience or knowledge is assumed. The program brings everyone to the same level very quickly, beginning with the fundamentals, while also filling in the inevitable gaps of those with some prior experience.
